Privacy Policy

Last updated: 3 October 2026

This privacy policy explains how Stumply (“Stumply”, “we”, “us”) handles information collected when you read our UK cricket score guides, articles and reference pages. It is written for ordinary readers rather than lawyers, but it covers the categories of data we touch and the choices you have.

Who we are

Stumply is an independent editorial site that publishes guides on UK cricket scores, formats, broadcasting and competition calendars. We do not run a user account system, take payments, host user profiles or operate a forum. Our role in the data picture is therefore narrow: we publish articles and let you read them.

What we collect

When you visit a page on Stumply, our hosting infrastructure and analytics tools may record limited technical information that is generated automatically by your browser and device. This typically includes your IP address (often truncated for analytics), the type and version of your browser, the operating system you are using, the page on our site you requested, the referring page you arrived from, and the date and time of the request.

If you choose to send us a message through any contact channel we publish on the site, we will receive the contents of that message together with whatever identifying details you choose to include, such as a name or email address. We only use those details to reply to you.

We do not knowingly collect data from people under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly publish content aimed at children. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, please contact us so we can remove it.

How we use this information

The technical information described above is used to operate the site reliably, to detect abusive traffic patterns and to understand which articles readers find useful so we can improve them. Aggregated, non-identifying analytics, such as the number of visits to a given article in a month, may inform editorial decisions about which guides to expand or update.

We do not sell personal data, we do not exchange it with data brokers, and we do not use it for behavioural advertising aimed at individuals.

Cookies and similar technologies

Stumply may set small data files (cookies) in your browser to remember basic preferences and to support privacy-respecting analytics. The detail of which cookies are set, how long they persist and how to control them is documented separately in our cookie policy.

Third-party services

Some content on the site loads resources from third-party providers. Web fonts are served from Google Fonts, which receives the technical signals required to deliver a font file to your browser. External links from inside articles open the relevant third-party site in a new tab, at which point that site’s own privacy policy applies. We do not control how those third parties handle data, and we encourage you to review their privacy notices.

Where European or United Kingdom data protection law applies, the legal bases we rely on are our legitimate interest in operating an editorial website and, where relevant, your consent, which you can withdraw at any time by adjusting cookie settings in your browser or by contacting us.

How long we keep data

Server log entries are retained only as long as they are operationally useful, typically a small number of weeks. Aggregated analytics may be kept for longer where they no longer identify individuals. Messages you send us are retained for as long as is reasonably necessary to respond and to maintain a record of the conversation.

Your rights

If you are in the United Kingdom or the European Economic Area, you have the right to ask what personal data we hold about you, to ask that it be corrected if it is inaccurate, to ask that it be deleted in certain circumstances and to object to certain uses. You also have the right to complain to a supervisory authority. In the United Kingdom the relevant authority is the Information Commissioner’s Office.

Changes to this policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time, for example to reflect changes in the services we use or in applicable law. When we do, the “last updated” date at the top of the page will change. Substantive changes will be flagged in the article or on the homepage.

Contact

If you have a question about how we handle personal data, you can reach the editorial team through the contact channels published on our about page. Please mention “privacy” in your message so we can route it to the right person.
